Antique German Ceramic Beer Stein with Pewter Lid
This German beer stein is from the early 1900’s as can be seen in the very strong Art Nouveau motifs on the piece.
There are three cartouches with male and female characters in each with sayings in German.
The lead cartouche saying translates as follows “ Drink a thousand joys, keep yourself humble.”
There are two stamps on the underside. One says Germany and the other is a series of numbers.
There is a solder repair to the pewter lid where the finger pull is attached to it.
Other than that one condition, the stein is in very good condition with no chips or cracks.
