He wrote monographs on the artists of the Barbizon School* for periodicals, lectured frequently, exhibited widely, was a respected connoisseur, helped assemble famous art collections, and was an acquaintance of Van Gogh and Whistler. In Canada his works are in the collections of the Canadian Museum of Civilization, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the Quebec Museum of Art.
Condition is very good. There are no issues to the canvas. The frame has some wear (see images).
