Landscape Oil Painting, Possibly Attributed to American Artist, J. Francis Murphy

This turn of the last century painting has identification on the back but according to the information available about the artist, the dates don’t correspond to the findings. This just may be misinformation given to the purchaser who first bought the painting in 1910.

One other thing is that this piece isn’t signed which is suspect as Murphy signed his work in either the lower left or right corner of his paintings. There is no signature on the reverse either.

The painting is definitely in the style of Murphy who was a self taught artist and a member of the National Academy of Design and Watercolor Society.
