A Pair of Reticulated Footed Porcelain de Paris Baskets with gold details, mid 19th Century, French
This refined pair of reticulated porcelain baskets are perched upon pedestals with very clean lines making them adaptable to any decor.
Old Paris Porcelain is very broadly defined as porcelain made by artisans in and around Paris from the late 18th century to the 1870's. It was first beloved by Marie Antoinette (particularly the “cornflower” painted patterns) and utilized by only the wealthiest of French aristocrats.
Given the quality and simplicity of the design, I estimate that they are early to mid 19th century.
They are perfect for holding fruit or flowers.
The condition is excellent with some wear to the gold proving that they were used and enjoyed over and over. There are no chips, cracks and no visible repairs.
Sold as is. All sales are final.
